It just seemed to me that his decision to leave was a lot like some of the euphemisms that I have heard used around corporate settings when someone gets fired like, "He's going to seek opportunities elsewhere" or "He just wanted to spend more time with his family." Yes, the finishing was absolutely dreadful. Horrible. One of those shots needed to find the net. But that said, Hartman truly did have a great game. I think there has been tremendous improvement overall this year. We have a backline, where last year we didn't have much to speak of. Our mids, when healthy, have been solid. I think Sturgis is the best d-mid choice we have, with Beckerman and Dema on the wings and Morales at a-mid, but with his injury what can you do? I think that's really what's holding the team back at this point is injuries and a little lack of depth in some positions. Center back we are good, d-mid we are good, but we then have a hole somewhere else in the midfield. Wingert is great, the other wing, needs some depth. Forward we have some great choices, just need to get everyone healthy.

I do think things have changed, with those types of injuries in years previous, RSL would be totally sunk, now they have something to work with. Yes things aren't perfect, but it's a whole hell of a lot better than what we've had before. Hell, prime example, last year, one of our leading scorers was Chris Brown who does not even deserve to be in MLS and thankfully is not anymore. That was the sorry shape we were in before. I think tactics, especially on the road are still a problem, but can be overcome. There are plenty of things to work on, but that being true, there are also plenty of great improvements, especially in light of the fact that MLS has overall improved as a league. I would legitimately put MLS on the same level as the English Championship now. There are improvements of course, but I think right now, the biggest thing is to let the team play together and develop chemistry. That is still obviously lacking as evidenced by the lack of quality service into the box to Deuchar and also the lack of runs from the midfield especially to capitalize on what Deuchar creates. You would think that a team coached by Jason Kreis, the king of garbage goals, would realize that. Kreis made a living banging home rebounds. Hell, so did Wayne Gretzky. That's the real root of the scoring problem.

That being said, it still shows that the team is finally being put together the right way, from the back to the front. It does little good to have a great offense if the defense is not there. This year they are. Nick Rimando has not been near as impressive this year as compared to last, and that's a good thing. He hasn't had to make the spectacular saves this year, that's the point. That there is improvement. Yes the results are not coming yet, but I like what I'm seeing.

Comment on KC Post game

Wow!
