First today started with some great news.  My wife took a home pregnancy test and it came out with two lines (for those that don't know, that's a positive)!!!!  So great news with that.  This will be our third child and so far she's only like 2 weeks into it, so I will keep everyone posted on the progress.  Also, the paper I presented today for my conference turned out well.  I didn't stick around long enough to find out if I won any of the awards, but I'll find out on Monday.

Now to RSL.  Wow!  I am glad I skipped out of my conference early and made it down to the match.  I am glad to see I have my priorities straight.  It was fun having some Barra Brava guys make the trip out and stop by our tailgate.  It's nice getting to know some of the other supporters.

First impression, we had shape, especially in the defense.  We didn't give the ball away in the midfield (Sturgis for Talley paid off there).  In DC's defense, this is their third game in a week and they didn't have their first team (and in the case of their keeper, they didn't even start the backup) on the pitch and those who did play certainly looked gassed.  They always seem to have problems playing at altitude, but even then, this game it seemed like they didn't ever check out of their hotel.  In the case of DC's Peruvian keeper, I don't think he will even get airfare back to DC, much less be staying with the team.

It was such a strange feeling having a lead that early in the match and then seeing RSL extend it.  Hats off to Dema Kovalenko, he had a great game, as did Javier Morales.  This is what I was saying, the ball needs to go from the d-mid to the a-mid into the attack and finally this happened.  Espindola had a great game and the man of the match would have to be Kyle Beckerman.  His second goal should be goal of the week.  The funny part of that was that RCB was doing the Kyle Beckerman, Red and Blue Army chant when he made his run and scored.  It was one of the best moments ever in terms of being a fan.  Kenny Deuchar is fun to watch.  He is a prime example of what I love about Scottish football.  Scottish fans don't just want to see their team win, they want to see poetry on the pitch, they want to be entertained and get value for their money.  He was most certainly not offside when he was called for it.  This game could have been much worse for DC, Morales' free kick that rattled the woodwork was great.  It is nice to see some good finally coming off our set pieces, our corners were dangerous as well.

What can you say about a 4-0 victory?  I am still feeling great!
