Utah State Legislature

Now that the annual legislative session is coming to a close, we can all now breathe a sigh of relief that the clowns on Utah's Capitol Hill are finally going home. Can our state legislature get any more insanely conservative every year. Not just in a normal way, but more like John Birch Society members. I will of course never forget the almost annual resolution that urges the United States to leave the United Nations. I still don't see what that would solve. Oh and of course from the house member who represents my district, Glen Donnelson's annual bill to take away in state tuition to children of undocumented workers who have lived in the state for more than 3 years and went to high school here. Of course, they can pass laws like the one that designated jello as the official state desert and the dutch oven as the official state cooking utensil. I particularly liked Rebecca Walsh's
article from this morning's Trib about this year's legislative session.
While I love that we got the stadium funded thanks to the legislature, I am still amazed how that all came to be. I guess a lot of things in this state happen because of the good ole boy network on the hill.
