Kreis chat and Harris trade

All I can say about the Kreis chat, at least waht I've seen is that Garht really bothers me.  Give some straight answers and not just stupid cliches and meaningless platitudes.  As for Kreis, I'm seriously thinking of moving this blog to firejasonkreis.com.  I think the team really does not need to be remade (again) but we need people to let the players we have play together and not have all the turnover.  Look at the successful teams in the league, especially New England and Houston.  Those teams don't have international has-been superstars like Blanco and Beckham, but talent that came through their own systems with a core of players who have been playing together for a couple of years now.  This works in MLS year in and year out, why can't we learn this?

Now, I'm really sad to see Harris go as he was by far one of my favorite players.  I will reserve judgment on the trade until I see what we get for the draft pick, but with RSL's draft track record, I'm not holding my breath.  I would much prefer Atiba Harris who is a good reserve player and spot starter over someone like Nick Besagno who has yet to even be considered a good reserve player after 3 years and only sees first team time when half the back line is out injured.  If the move was made to free up an international slot, I can understand and accept that, as long as that slot is filled with someone worthwhile and not another Luis Tejada.

While Harris is not ideal, with proper coaching, I think he can be refined enough to be a serviceable player in this league either at d-mid or at striker.  He has the physical gifts, but just needs to work on his touch and on smart fouling.  This can be coached, but in the time he has been at RSL, it obviously hasn't been.  Atiba is not improving not because he doesn't have the work ethic and is uncoachable.  He is not an attitude problem.

Oh, and for those who keep sending me all those damned emails wanting to put an add on this or to swap urls or whatever the hell else you want, I'm not interested.  I don't want ads on my blog, even if it makes me money, I'm not interested in making money on this blog, I'm interested in publishing my own opinion.  I don't want my bully pulpit cluttered up with advertising garbage.  If I wanted adds, I know how to add google ads already.  Please stop stuff my inbox with this garbage.  Thanks.
