Houston, I think we have a problem

Ok, what a horrible day Monday turned out to be.  Normally Mondays suck but this one turned out worse than usual.  At about 4:30 in the afternoon, I was stopped at a stop light and the diesel behind me lost both tires off it's rear axle and one bounced down the road and hit my car.  The worst part is it took the Weber County Sheriff like an hour to do all the paperwork and let me go on my way.  Nobody was hurt, but I figure that there is about $2000 worth of damage, I'll post pics I took as soon and I can figure out how to get them off my phone.  So thankfully I got a ride down to the game with a friend.  due to traffic, we made it right in time for kickoff but missed most of the pre-game festivities for Eddie Pope's last home match.

So anyway I guess the new GM has a bunch of good ideas and talked to some people about what he will happen in the future with RCB and how that will all work in the new stadium (and from what I hear, great job Garth!  Nice to finally have someone in the FO who understands).  Missed most of that discussion though.

The big think to say of the match is that the referee lost control.  He lost control because he never punished the early hard fouls and never cut off things that started to spawn retaliation.  The red on Movsisyan, I guess he threw a punch or something?  I didn't see that, saw some pushing and shoving, but no fists, but whatever.  The first red was a legitimate call, granted a fairly soft red in my opinion.  Movsisyan's red seemed to be more of a make up call than anything.

Nick Rimando's save where he barely got the shot over the bar was one of the most amazing saves I have ever seen.  Wow.  I do not even want to think how miserable this year would have been had we not had Rimando in goal.  Just think what old Lobster hands, Garlick, would have done, I think we would be the first team ever to have a triple digit goal differential.

One thing certainly noticed is that the last 15 minutes only had one RSL player making much of an effort.  Thank you Espindola!  Other than that, the team just quit after the red.  It was pretty pathetic.  As I have said before, I can handle losings, I can't handle not trying.

After the match, I made sure to thank Eddie Pope for a great three years.  I also gave him my personal RCB scarf.  Enjoy it Eddie, I hope it means as much to you as it has to me.
