Pre-Beckhamless Galaxy

I was going to skip class today and go, but thinking about it, I would much rather go to class and learn about one of my least favorite eras of American History, the Progressive Era. Thankfully Beckham won't be there. I wouldn't mind the Beckham hype so much if more of those who by into the hype even understod what it was all about. David Beckham is a great player, what he can do on a set-piece is truly amazing. That said, the rest of the Galaxy suck even worse ass than RSL, which is pretty damned hard to do. Cobi Jones more than anything just annoys me, he was good about 5 years ago but should have retired with his buddy Alexi.
Now on to the new GM. I don't know what to think. Certainly it seems he's just another MLS retread. I will say if this is the one that we have to sit down when we hear the news like what was promised in the spring, well, I think I'll be ok standing. I've head some of his calls in the booth with DC United, which is fine plus he has MLS experience and he's a lawyer, which hopefully will help, but otherwise, what sort of Front Office experience does he have? How much authroity over Jason Kreis will he have? Too many questions and not enough time for answers with this guy. Maybe we could bring back Pastorino? Why not someone like Peter Wilt? It wouldn't surprise me if Wilt was probably asked and turned it down. Hello, why not Fabio Capello? We don't have relegation in MLS and who cares if some of the refs are bought off, maybe it would actually help MLS refereeing.
Now as for Jason Kreis, who else thinks his grace period is officially over? At least Ellinger managed to get 5 wins in his first year and he had a whole lot less to work with, mostly rejects from other teams. Kreis started out with a good MLS side, one that the year before had been the best team in the league over the last half of the season. So far he has successfully managed to dismantle that and bring us back to a team of MLS rejects. Of RSL's starting liineup, how many would honestly be starters with another team? Other than Nick Rimando, Eddie Pope and Kyle Beckerman, not too many really.
