First, The trade that brought us Findley so far would have to be the second best trade in RSL history (Jeff Cunningham for Clint Mathis being #1) and that without having one of the players involved play yet. Findley can finish which is exactly what we need. It was nice to see two forwards actually make runs all game long. Adu was certainly not missed, it was great not having to watch him try to dribble through 4 defenders only to lose the ball. His cute little step overs and stuff mean nothing if he just loses the ball after he does a couple of them. I hope he has an awesome U-20 WC and someone from Europe will take him off our hands. Ballouchy played his best game so far this year, he even ripped off a few good, driven shots. Pope is just Pope, he will be missed when he retires. Hopefully we can get him to stick around next year in some sort of capacity with the team, I know DC would jump at the chance to get him. The whole back line looked good. Atiba Harris should have been playing d-mid instead of forward for his whole career. He looked great and he played very much in control and saved us quite a few times by disrupting DC's offense. Talley came back and had what I thought was his best game all year. He played like the Talley of last year and it was great. And what can't be said about Andy freaking Williams. Maybe with all the cap space we can pay him what we were last year. Just like last year, when RSL started to win, it happened when Andy moved into the starting lineup. I can't wait to see what this team looks like when we add Sturgis into the lineup.
It was nice to see the team not look gassed at the end of 90 with a lowland team. This is certainly encouraging.
I certainly did not like the way DC decided to play at the end, dirty as possible. It was like watching the San Antonio Spurs. If you can't win, hurt someone I guess. What can I say, this is the first time I've ever blogged about a win and it sure feels good. MOTM has to be Findley, can't complain about a brace.
